Twenty-Four Rooms

Which Room Will You Actually Want to Stay in All Day?

We designed each of our 24 rooms to earn that feeling — forest-cream walls, considered lighting, and a bed you won't want to leave before 10:00. From R2 400 a night including breakfast.

Small in Number, Deliberate in Detail

Twenty-four rooms is not a marketing constraint — it is a commitment. It means we prepare each room individually before you arrive rather than running a checklist at pace. The forest-cream palette — warm off-white walls, deep sage cushions, natural oak and yellowwood — was chosen to hold up under the hard summer light of the Winelands and to feel just as settled under low amber lamps on a wet winter night. Every room has a proper writing desk, uncapped fibre, a bathroom stocked with toiletries made by a small producer in Wellington, half an hour over the Berg River, and a battery-backed circuit so that load-shedding costs you a few lights and nothing else. Rates below are per room per night for two people sharing and include a full breakfast and VAT at 15%; a 1% TOMSA tourism levy is shown separately on your final account. Winter rates run June to August — the Cape's wet season, when the valley is green, the mountains are under cloud and the fireplaces are lit every evening. Festive-season rates run 15 December to 10 January, when Franschhoek is hot, dry and fully booked, and a three-night minimum applies.

Room Categories

Classic Room — from R2 400

Our entry-level Classic rooms run between 18 and 22 square metres and are finished to exactly the same standard as the rest of the house. Deep-set shuttered sash windows, blackout curtains, a queen-size bed with a pillow menu, and a rainfall shower. Ideal for solo travellers and short valley stays. R2 400 a night in winter (June to August), R2 950 in autumn and spring, R3 900 over the festive season.

Deluxe Room — from R3 100

At 26–30 square metres, Deluxe rooms add a seating alcove with a reading chair and a larger bathroom with a deep soaking tub alongside the walk-in shower. The forest-cream timber panelling runs floor to ceiling here, giving the room a more enclosed and private feel. Popular for stays of three nights or more. R3 100 a night in winter, R3 800 in autumn and spring, R4 900 over the festive season.

Junior Suite — from R3 900

The five Junior Suites each have a separate sitting room, a working fireplace laid and lit every evening from June through August, and a stoep or juliet balcony looking up at the Franschhoek mountains. At 42–48 square metres they are generous without being cavernous. We stock each one with a bottle of Franschhoek Semillon or Cap Classique and olive oil pressed in the valley. R3 900 a night in winter, R4 700 in autumn and spring, R5 900 over the festive season.

The Garden Suite — from R4 400

One suite only, at ground level, opening directly onto a private walled garden of about 30 square metres planted water-wise with lemon trees, rosemary, agapanthus and wild olive. The Garden Suite has its own entrance, a king-size four-poster bed, and a bathroom with a freestanding bath positioned to face the garden through full-height glass. R4 400 a night in winter, R5 300 in autumn and spring, R6 500 over the festive season.

Included in Every Room, Without Asking

250 Mbps uncapped fibre

A stable, fast connection in every corner of the building, including the stoep and the garden. The router and the access points sit on the inverter, so the Wi-Fi does not drop when the area is load-shed. No login codes that expire at midnight.

Breakfast from 07:30 SAST

Brewed-to-order coffee, stone fruit from the Ceres and Elgin orchards in season, smoked Franschhoek trout, farm cheeses and house-baked bread. Served in the ground-floor dining room or, on request, brought to your door.

Flexible late checkout

We offer a 13:00 late checkout to all guests subject to availability — just let us know the night before. We never charge a fee for asking, and we will hold your luggage and give you the pool and the stoep until your driver arrives.

"The Junior Suite had a fire going when we arrived at 21:30 on a cold, wet July evening. Nobody had told them we were coming in late — they had checked the arrival time and decided to do it. That's the kind of detail that stays with you."
